" The Security Council takes note with appreciation of the first reports of the monitoring and reporting mechanism on children and armed conflict and welcomes the increasing awareness by some parties to armed conflicts of its relevant decisions as well as the development by those parties of action plans to end recruitment and use of child soldiers in violation of applicable international law.
" يحيط مجلس الأمن علما مع التقدير بالتقارير الأولى لآلية الرصد والإبلاغ المعنية بمسألة الأطفال والصراع المسلح ويرحب بالوعي المتزايد لبعض الأطراف في الصراعات المسلحة بقراراته ذات الصلة وبقيام تلك الأطراف بوضع خطط عمل لإنهاء تجنيد الجنود الأطفال واستخدامهم في انتهاك للقانون الدولي المنطبق.

" The Security Council welcomes the cooperation extended to the SRSG, UNICEF and child protection advisers by some parties to armed conflicts in the preparation and implementation of action plans to halt recruitment and use of children in violation of applicable international law.
" يرحب مجلس الأمن بالتعاون الذي أبدته بعض الأطراف في الصراعات المسلحة للممثلة الخاصة للأمين العام واليونيسيف والمستشارين المعنيين بحماية الأطفال التابعين لعمليات حفظ السلام في إعداد وتنفيذ خطط العمل الرامية إلى وقف تجنيد الأطفال واستخدامهم في انتهاك للقانون الدولي المنطبق.

" The Security Council welcomes the steps taken by national, international and `mixed'criminal courts and tribunals against those who are alleged to have committed grave violations against children in situations of armed conflict in violation of applicable international law.
" يرحب مجلس الأمن بالخطوات التي اتخذتها المحاكم والهيئات القضائية الجنائية الوطنية والدولية و " المختلطة " في حق الأشخاص المدعى بارتكابهم انتهاكات جسيمة ضد الأطفال في حالات الصراع المسلح، في انتهاك للقانون الدولي المنطبق.

3. They welcomed the progressive improvement in the overall security situation in Chad, but expressed deep concern that child recruitment in violation of applicable international law, had been an ongoing phenomenon during the most recent reporting period.
3 - ورحبوا بالتحسن التدريجي الذي شهده الوضع الأمني العام في تشاد، غير أنهم أعربوا عن قلقهم العميق من أن تجنيد الأطفال في انتهاك للقانون الدولي المنطبق شكّل ظاهرة استمرت خلال الفترة المشمولة بالتقرير الأخير.

" Nonetheless, the Council strongly condemns the continuing recruitment and use of children in armed conflict in violation of applicable international law, the killing and maiming of children, rape and other sexual violence, abductions, the denial of humanitarian access to children and attacks against schools and hospitals by parties to armed conflict.
" غير أن المجلس يدين بقوة تمادي الأطراف في الصراع المسلح في تجنيد الأطفال واستخدامهم في الصراع المسلح في انتهاك للقانون الدولي المنطبق وقتل الأطفال وتشويههم واغتصابهم وتعريضهم لغير ذلك من أشكال العنف الجنسي واختطافهم وحرمانهم من المساعدات الإنسانية والاعتداء على المدارس والمستشفيات.

" The Council expresses its concern that civilians, particularly children, continue to account for the vast majority of victims of acts of violence committed by parties to armed conflict, including killing and maiming as a result of deliberate targeting, and indiscriminate and excessive use of force in violation of applicable international law.
" ويعرب المجلس عن قلقه لأن المدنيين، ولا سيما الأطفال، لا يزالون يشكلون الأغلبية العظمى من ضحايا أعمال العنف التي ترتكبها الأطراف في الصراع المسلح، بما في ذلك القتل والتشويه نتيجة للاستهداف المتعمد واستخدام القوة بشكل عشوائي ومفرط في انتهاك للقانون الدولي المنطبق.
