As was underscored at the informal ministerial meeting held in Bergen, Norway in September 2000, the links between environment and human health and security (secure access to natural resources for the poor, security in terms of health, and climate change) should receive increased attention, including in the context of preparations for the 10-year review of the outcome of the Rio Conference.
