3. in my report on the implementation of Security Council resolution 1625 (2005) on conflict prevention, particularly in Africa (S/2008/18), I proposed to put in place additional regional tools for prevention and create more opportunities to support regional solutions, building on the experience of the United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA) and the Office of my former Special Representative for the Great Lakes Region.

As I noted in my report on the implementation of the recommendations of the Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (A/61/668), the integrated mission planning process, as the vehicle for integrated planning, must guide cooperation between the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the Department of Field Support and their key partners in the Secretariat and in the agencies, funds, programmes and other entities, as applicable.
وقد أشرت في تقريري عن تنفيذ توصيات اللجنة الخاصة المعنية بعمليات حفظ السلام (A/61/668) إلى أن عملية التخطيط المتكامل للبعثات، بوصفه وسيلة للتخطيط المتكامل، يجب أن توجه التعاون بين إدارة عمليات حفظ السلام وإدارة الدعم الميداني وشركائهما الأساسيين في الأمانة العامة والوكالات والصناديق والبرامج وغيرها من الكيانات، حسب المقتضى.
