(a) International, regional and national initiatives and experiences in the use of space technology for forest management and environmental monitoring;

هـ - تقديم مساعدة فنية لبناء القدرات في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء لإدارة الكوارث أو بناء القدرات في مجال استخدام النظام العالمي للملاحة بواسطة السواتل لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة؛

International cooperation in the use of space technology for development and agreement on further international legal principles and practices will be an increasingly important part of efforts to promote global peace, security and stability, in all their aspects, in a period of rapid political and economic change.
والتعاون الدولي في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في أغراض التنمية والاتفاق بشأن المزيد من المبادئ والممارسات القانونية الدولية سيصبحان جزءا مطرد اﻷهمية من الجهود الرامية إلى تشجيع السلم واﻷمن والاستقرار في العالم، من جميع النواحي، في فترة تتسم بسرعة التغير على الصعيدين السياسي والاقتصادي.

The regional support offices would serve as centres of expertise in the use of space technology in disaster management in accordance with paragraph 11 of General Assembly resolution 61/110.
وستقوم مكاتب الدعم الإقليمية بمهمة مراكز للخبرة في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في إدارة الكوارث، وفقا للفقرة 11 من قرار الجمعية العامة 61/110.

Post-UNISPACE III regional workshops in the use of space technology for disaster management started in 2000 and, by the end of 2003, the Programme had convened five such workshops and had begun to define and develop follow-up pilot projects for Southern Africa and South America.
وبدأ في عام 2000 تنظيم حلقات عمل اقليمية لاحقة لليونيسبيس الثالث في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في ادارة الكوارث، وحتى نهاية عام 2003، كان البرنامج قد عقد خمسا من هذه الحلقات وبدأ تحديد ووضع برامج متابعة نموذجية لكل من منطقتي الجنوب الأفريقي وأمريكا الجنوبية.

In its resolution 61/110, the General Assembly agreed that UN-SPIDER should work closely with regional and national centres of expertise in the use of space technology in disaster management to form a network of regional support offices for implementing the activities of the programme in their respective regions.
45- وافقت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 61/110، على أن يعمل برنامج سبايدر على نحو وثيق مع مراكز الخبرة الإقليمية والوطنية في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في إدارة الكوارث، بغية تكوين شبكة مكاتب دعم إقليمية يتولى كل منها تنفيذ أنشطة البرنامج في المنطقة الخاصة به.

The second round-table session, entitled " Capacity-building in the use of space technology for Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on its application in different areas of the regional economy " , provided a wealth of information on opportunities and what was required in future efforts.
44- وَفَّرت جلسة المائدة المستديرة الثانية، المعنونة " بناء القدرات في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء لصالح أمريكا اللاتينية والكاريبي، مع التركيز على تطبيقاتها في مختلف مجالات الاقتصاد الإقليمي، قدراً وفيراً من المعلومات عن الفرص المتاحة وعما هو مطلوب في الجهود المقبلة.

(c) The role of the United Nations in enhancing international and regional cooperation in the use of space technology for human and environmental security.
(ج) دور الأمم المتحدة في تعزيز التعاون الدولي والإقليمي في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء من أجل الأمن البشري والبيئي.

In its resolution 61/110, the General Assembly agreed that UN-SPIDER should work closely with regional and national centres of expertise in the use of space technology in disaster management to form a network of regional support offices for implementing the activities of the programme in their respective regions in a coordinated manner.
10- وافقت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 61/110، على أن يعمل برنامج سبايدر على نحو وثيق مع مراكز الخبرة الإقليمية والوطنية في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في إدارة الكوارث بغية تكوين شبكة من مكاتب الدعم الإقليمية من أجل تنفيذ أنشطة البرنامج بطريقة منسّقة في المنطقة الخاصة بكل منها.

It was noted that the United Nations Programme on Space Applications should continue to assist institutions and agencies in developing countries to build capacity in the use of space technology for water management through medium-term and long-term fellowships and programmes organized in cooperation with Member States.
ولوحظ أنَّ من الضروري أن يواصل برنامج الأمم المتحدة للتطبيقات الفضائية مساعدة مؤسسات البلدان النامية ووكالاتها على بناء القدرات في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء من أجل إدارة المياه عن طريق زمالات وبرامج متوسطة وطويلة الأجل تُنظَّم بالتعاون مع الدول الأعضاء.

6.4 During the biennium, the Office for Outer Space Affairs will continue to respond to the demand from developing countries for technical assistance in the development of indigenous capability, in particular by providing training opportunities in the use of space technology and technical assistance and advice in implementing pilot projects.
٦-٤ وخلال فترة السنتين، يواصل مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي الاستجابة لطلب البلدان النامية للمساعدة التقنية في تطوير القدرة المحلية، لا سيما عن طريق توفير فرص التدريب في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء وتقديم المساعدة والمشورة التقنية لتنفيذ المشاريع الرائدة.

6.10 The action plan and recommendations to be adopted by UNISPACE III could result in new mandates for the Office to lead international initiatives in using space technology for disaster management, protection of the environment, enhancement of educational opportunities and provision of medical and health services in rural and remote areas.
٦-١٠ قد تؤدي خطة العمل والتوصيات التي سيعتمدها مؤتمر اﻷمم المتحدة الثالث المعني باستكشاف الفضاء الخارجي واستخدامه في اﻷغراض السلمية إلى صدور ولايات جديدة للمكتب ترمي إلى توجيه المبادرات الدولية في مجال استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء للتخفيف من حدة الكوارث، وحماية البيئة، وتعزيز الفرص التعليمية، وتوفير الخدمات الطبية والصحية في المناطق الريفية والنائية.
