37. Her Government’s considerable successes in tackling the problems of refugees and returnees had been undermined by the outbreak of hostilities in the northern part of the country on 12 May 1998.
٣٧ - وقد قوض من النجاح الكبير الذي حققته حكومة بلدها في معالجة مشاكل اللاجئين والعائدين نشوب اﻷعمال القتالية في الجزء الجنوبي من البلد في ١٢ أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٨.

The implementation of the request contained in operative paragraph 8 of the draft resolution, regarding the provision of assistance to the countries of Central Africa in tackling the problems of refugees and displaced persons in their territories, would be subject to the availability of voluntary contributions to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
إن تنفيذ الطلب الوارد في الفقرة 8 من منطوق مشروع القرار، المتعلق بتقديم المساعدة لبلدان وسط أفريقيا في معالجة مشاكل اللاجئين والمشردين في أراضيها، سيكون مرتهنا بتوفر المساهمات الطوعية في مفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لشؤون اللاجئين.

8. Requests the Secretary-General and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to continue their assistance to the countries of Central Africa in tackling the problems of refugees and displaced persons in their territories;
