B. Pledges made before the ninth session

9. The Working Group shall complete its work before the ninth session of the Conference.

To that end, a dialogue among the parties, with the participation of the Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the GEF, will be convened on 17 May 2008, immediately before the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties.
وتحقيقا لهذا الغرض، سيعقد حوار فيما بين الأطراف في 17 أيار/مايو 2008 مباشرة قبل الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف بمشاركة من المسؤول التنفيذي الأول ورئيس مرفق البيئة العالمية.

It noted with appreciation that operational guidelines for expedited financing of national communications, based on the guidelines contained in the annex to decision 17/CP.8, are expected to be effective before the ninth session of the COP;

Requests the secretariat to organize a workshop, before the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties, on possible synergies and joint action with the other multilateral environmental conventions and agreements, such as the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, and to report the results of this workshop to the Conference of the Parties at its ninth session;
36- يطلب إلى الأمانة أن تنظم حلقة عمل، تعقد قبل الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف، عن أوجه التآزر والعمل المشترك الممكنة مع الاتفاقيات والاتفاقات البيئية المتعددة الأطراف الأخرى، مثل اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر، وأن تقدم تقريراً عن نتائج هذه الحلقة إلى مؤتمر الأطراف في دورته التاسعة؛

Requests the secretariat to organize a workshop, before the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties, on the needs and options of non-Annex I Parties for economic diversification, and on support programmes by Annex II Parties to address these needs, and to report the results of this workshop to the Conference of the Parties at its ninth session;
37- يطلب إلى الأمانة أن تنظم حلقة عمل، تعقد قبل الدورة التاسعة لمؤتمر الأطراف، بشأن احتياجات وخيارات الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول فيما يتعلق بالتنويع الاقتصادي، وبشأن برامج الدعم التي تنفذها الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق الثاني لتلبية هذه الاحتياجات، وأن تقدم تقريراً عن نتائج هذه الحلقة إلى مؤتمر الأطراف في دورته التاسعة.

Requests the secretariat to apply the procedures for the review of national communications, including in-depth reviews, as defined in decisions 2/CP.1 and 6/CP.3, to the national communications submitted by Annex I Parties in accordance with decision 11/CP.4; the in-depth reviews should be completed before the ninth session of the Conference of the Parties;

In the Board's view, in order to be able to fulfil its mandate and to satisfy the new applications envisaged for 2004, and also taking into consideration that the Board had recommended for expenditure almost all the money available at its eighth session, the Fund would need new contributions amounting to at least $300,000 before the ninth session of the Board, scheduled to be held at the end of January 2004.
ويرى المجلس أن الصندوق سيحتاج إلى تبرعات إضافية بمبلغ 000 300 دولار على الأقل، قبل الدورة التاسعة للمجلس، المقرر عقدها في نهاية كانون الثاني/يناير 2004، كي يتمكن من أداء مهام ولايته والاستجابة للطلبات الجديدة المتوقعة في عام 2004، إذا أُخذ في الاعتبار أن المجلس قدم توصيات، في دورته الثامنة، بإنفاق جميع الأموال المتاحة.

In the Board's view, in order to be able to satisfy the new applications envisaged for 2004 and fulfil its mandate satisfactorily, and taking also into consideration that the Board recommended for expenditure almost all money available at its eighth session, the Fund would need new contributions amounting to at least US$ 300,000 before the ninth session of the Board, scheduled to be held from 19 to 23 January 2004.
ويرى المجلس أنه إذا أراد تلبية الطلبات الجديدة المتوقعة لعام 2004 والاضطلاع بولايته على نحو وافٍ، بالنظر إلى أن المجلس أوصى بإنفاق كافة الأموال المتوفرة تقريباً في دورته الثامنة، فإن الصندوق سيكون بحاجة إلى تبرعات جديدة بما لا يقل عن 000 300 دولار من دولارات الولايات المتحدة قبل الدورة التاسعة للمجلس، المزمع عقدها من 19 إلى 23 كانون الثاني/يناير 2004.
