The generally accepted principle of consent means that the only relevant factor as to whether a State becomes bound by the treaty in case of an invalid reservation is its own intent, that is to say, whether its consent to be bound was, at the time it was given, conditional on the validity of its reservation.
143 - ومبدأ القبول المقبول عموما يعني أن العامل الوحيد ذا الصلة بشأن ما إذا كانت دولة ما ستصبح ملزمة بموجب معاهدة في حالة إبدائها تحفظا غير صحيح هو نيتها: أي بشأن ما إذا كان قبولها بأن تكون ملزمة، في الوقت الذي كان قبلت فيه، مشروطا بصحة تحفظها.
