II. Actions taken by UNESCO in response to the Economic and Social Council resolutions 5. As the agency designated to lead the necessary follow-up actions to the Economic and Social Council resolutions on genetic privacy and nondiscrimination, and following the decision of the Director-General in this respect, UNESCO has launched two parallel consultation processes:

III. Conclusions 38. As the agency designated to lead the necessary follow-up actions to the Economic and Social Council resolutions on genetic privacy and non-discrimination, UNESCO has carried out a number of activities designed to assess the current situation regarding genetic privacy and discrimination, and to identify the optimal forum for continuing international reflection in this area.
