While the recruitment and use of children have continued, progress has been made with regard to the national security forces, notably in October 2012 with the signing by the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the United Nations of an action plan to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children and sexual violence by government armed forces.

In June 2012, pursuant to Security Council resolutions on children and armed conflict and in line with previous conclusions of the Working Group of the Security Council on Children and Armed Conflict, an action plan to end and prevent the recruitment of children by the Tatmadaw was signed between the Government of Myanmar and the country task force.
وفي حزيران/يونيه 2012، عملا بقرارات مجلس الأمن بشأن الأطفال والنزاع المسلح، وتمشيا مع الاستنتاجات السابقة للفريق العامل المعني بالأطفال والنزاع المسلح التابع لمجلس الأمن، وقعت حكومة ميانمار وفرقة العمل القُطرية خطة عمل لإنهاء ومنع تجنيد الأطفال في قوات التاتماداو.

Those efforts had contributed to enhanced child protection, but there remained challenges that needed to be addressed immediately in order to keep the momentum that was created by the signature on 27 June 2012 by the Government of Myanmar and the United Nations of an action plan to end and prevent the recruitment of children in the Tatmadaw.

32. I welcome the progress made regarding compliance with the action plan to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children, including owing to the unimpeded access granted to the United Nations for screening purposes and the continuing build-up of child protection units within national and local police recruitment centres.

162. Following the visit of my Special Representative in November 2012 and the Government's commitment to address grave violations against children in Yemen, dialogue on an action plan to end and prevent the recruitment of children by the national armed forces continued in 2013.

40. On 27 June 2012, following six years of negotiations, assisted by my Special Representative, the Government of Myanmar and the country task force signed an action plan to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children in the Tatmadaw, including the integrated border guard forces.

In light of the recent military and political developments in the east of the country, the Special Representative assessed the situation of children affected by armed conflict, and reviewed progress on the implementation of the action plan signed in October 2012 by the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the United Nations to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children by national security forces, and sexual violence.
وفي ضوء التطورات العسكرية والسياسية الأخيرة التي شهدها شرق البلد، أجرت الممثلة الخاصة تقييماً لوضع الأطفال المتضررين من النزاع المسلح، واستعرضت التقدم المُحرز في تنفيذ خطة العمل التي وقعتها في 30 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2012 حكومة جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية والأمم المتحدة لإنهاء ومنع تجنيد واستخدام الأطفال من جانب قوات الأمن الوطنية، ومنع أعمال العنف الجنسي ضدهم.

3. The Working Group expressed appreciation for the progress made in recent years by the Government of Myanmar to end violations and abuses against children and welcomed the signature on 27 June 2012 by the Government of Myanmar and the country task force on monitoring and reporting of an action plan to end and prevent the recruitment and use of children in the Tatmadaw.
