وذكَّرتُ كلا الزعيمين بأن مجلس الأمن حث مؤخرا الطرفين على اتخاذ خطوات ملموسة فورية وغير مشروطة نحو تنفيذ قرار تعيين الحدود النهائي والملزم الذي اتخذته لجنة الحدود والامتثال التام لاتفاقي الجزائر.

Furthermore, I informed the two leaders of my intention to dispatch a senior United Nations official to discuss with them ways to begin the demarcation process, in accordance with the Algiers Agreements.

5. Calls on the parties to urgently resolve the outstanding issues in accordance with the Algiers Agreements and fulfil the following obligations:
5 - يدعو الطرفين إلى التعجيل بحل المسائل المعلقة وفقا لاتفاقي الجزائر وأن يفيا بالالتزامات التالية:

Stressing that only the full implementation of the Algiers Agreements will lead to sustainable peace which is a crucial precondition to address reconstruction and development needs as well as economic recovery,
وإذ يشدد على أن التنفيذ التام لاتفاقي الجزائر هو السبيل الوحيد لتحقيق السلام المستدام الذي هو شرط أساسي لا بد منه لتلبية احتياجات التعمير والتنمية، فضلا عن الانتعاش الاقتصادي،

Recalling that, in accordance with the Algiers Agreements, the primary responsibility lies with the parties, the mission urged them to cooperate fully with the view to ensure expeditious demining as required for demarcation.
وأشارت البعثة إلى أن المسؤولية الأولى تقع على عاتق الطرفين وفقا لاتفاقي الجزائر وحثتهما على أن يتعاونا تعاونا تاما بغية كفالة إزالة الألغام بالسرعة التي يقتضيها رسم الحدود.

5 - إن مثل هذه التصرفات من جانب إريتريا تشكل انتهاكات أساسية لاتفاقي الجزائر وتقوض كامل البناء الذي أوجده الاتفاقان لتيسير قيام علاقات سلمية بين الطرفين.

He claims that the implementation of some aspects of the " observations " of the Boundary Commission on demarcation are not in the interests of peace between the two countries and will not advance the major objective of the Algiers Agreements.

وتصرفاتها لا تشكل انتهاكا لاتفاقي الجزائر وميثاق الأمم المتحدة فحسب بل وتحديا أيضا لمجلس الأمن، الذي دعم البعثة وطلب مؤخرا في تقريره الصحفي المؤرخ 8 أيار/مايو أن ' ' ترفع إريتريا دون تأخير ودون شروط مسبقة كل القيود التي فرضتها على حركة البعثة وعملياتها``.

The demarcation process cannot go forward in the face of the open threat and use of force by Eritrea, a fundamental breach of the Algiers Agreements and flagrant defiance of Council resolution 1640 (2005).

14. On 22 September, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia sent a letter to his Eritrean counterpart stating that Eritrea had committed a material breach of the Algiers Agreements by introducing troops and heavy military equipment into the Temporary Security Zone since October 2006.
14 - وفي 22 أيلول/سبتمبر، وجه وزير خارجية إثيوبيا رسالة إلى نظيره الإريتري أفاد فيها بأن إريتريا ارتكبت خرقا ماديا لاتفاقي الجزائر بإدخالها لقوات وعتاد عسكري ثقيل في المنطقة الأمنية المؤقتة منذ تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2006.

The success of the peace process to date is the result, first and foremost, of a close and determined adherence by the parties and the United Nations to the guiding provisions of the two Algiers Agreements.
فالنجاح الذي يحرز في عملية السلام حتى الآن إنما يعود أولا وقبل أي شيء إلى التزام الطرفين والأمم المتحدة على نحو وثيق وثابت بالأحكام التوجيهية لاتفاقي الجزائر.
