(3) If by the act the offender at least by gross negligence causes the death another person the penalty shall be imprisonment for life or not less than ten years.

In the case of all other offences committed in a foreign country by a foreign national, the offender shall, save as otherwise expressly provided, failing extradition, be prosecuted and tried only if the offence is punishable under Ethiopian law with death or with rigorous imprisonment for not less than ten years. (2) بالنسبة إلى جميع الجرائم الأخرى التي يرتكبها أحد الرعايا الأجانب في بلد أجنبي، تتم، خلا وجود حكم ينص صراحة على غير ذلك، وفي حال عدم استرداد المجرم، مقاضاة المجرم ومحاكمته فقط إذا كان القانون الإثيوبي يعاقب على الجريمة بالإعدام أو بالسجن مع الأشغال الشاقة لمدة لا تقل عن عشر سنوات " .

3) If in the commission of any of the acts referred to in paragraph 1 above, the perpetrator has killed another person wilfully, he/she shall be imprisoned for at least ten years or receive a custodial sentence of thirty years.
