We recall that Israel continues to occupy parts of southern Lebanon and that the Israeli air force still violates Lebanese airspace. This constitutes a violation of the Blue Line, which is monitored by UNIFIL, and a real threat to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Lebanon, in violation of Security Council resolution 1701 (2006).
كما نود أن نبرز استمرار إسرائيل في احتلالها لأجزاء في جنوب لبنان وفي خرق الطيران الحربي الإسرائيلي للأجواء اللبنانية، الأمر الذي يشكل خرقا للخط الأزرق، حيث تقوم اليونيفيل بمراقبته، ويشكل تهديدا حقيقيا لسيادة لبنان واستقلاله وسلامته الإقليمية بما يخالف قرار مجلس الأمن 1701 (2006).

The steadfast refusal to suppress Hizbullah and to ensure effective control of the south as required by Security Council resolutions and international law is the cause of instability in the area, and risks causing a serious escalation of tensions in South Lebanon and in the greater Middle East.
وإن الإصرار على رفض قمع حزب الله وضمان السيطرة الفعالة على الجنوب على نحو ما اقتضته قرارات مجلس الأمن وأحكام القانون الدولي، سبب لعدم الاستقرار في المنطقة، ومن شأنه أن يؤدي إلى تصعيد خطير للتوتر في جنوب لبنان وفي منطقة الشرق الأوسط الكبرى.

The United Nations building that Lebanon has recently completed as the focal point for United Nations activities in Lebanon and in the region is proof, if any was needed, of Lebanon's keen interest in the return of international organizations to Beirut.
وإن مبنى اﻷمم المتحدة الذي شيده لبنان مؤخرا كمركز للمنظمة الدولية لنشاطاتها في لبنان وفي المنطقة هو خير دليل على حرص لبنان على عودة المنظمات الدولية إلى بيروت.

We welcome the Agreement between Israel and Jordan on the Common Agenda for their negotiations and we hope that such a dialogue will soon begin with Lebanon and Jordan, with a view to the total withdrawal by Israel from the territories illegally occupied in southern Lebanon and in the Golan Heights, including the Holy City of Jerusalem.
