وفي هذا السياق، فإن إعلان سنة ٢٠٠٠ السنة الدولية لتقديم الشكر سيتيح لنا فرصة فريدة لضم صفوفنا بالروح التي تحلى بها مؤسسو المنظمة.

The Council will have before it the following three proposals: proclamation of the year 2000 as the international year of mountains, proclamation of the year 2001 as the international year of volunteers, and proclamation of the year 2000 as the international year of Thanksgiving.
