8. On 30 September 1992, the Secretary-General of the United Nations met with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States at the United Nations Headquarters.

The Agency maintains contact with the Arab League secretariat at Cairo, and with the Permanent Observer of the Arab League in New York; participates in regular sectoral meetings organized by the Arab League; and seeks to foster exchanges between its officials and the Arab League secretariat at various levels and in various forums.
وتحافظ الوكالة على علاقة تربطها بأمانة الجامعة العربية في القاهرة وبالمراقب الدائم لجامعة الدول العربية في نيويورك، وتشترك في الاجتماعات القطاعية العادية التي تعقدها الجامعة العربية؛ وتسعى إلى تعزيز المبادلات بين موظفيها وأمانة الجامعة العربية على مختلف المستويات وفي مختلف المحافل.

The Transport and Communications Division (TCD) of ESCWA collaborated with the Committee of Experts established by the technical secretariat of LAS in reviewing the various documents submitted by different countries and agencies, and proposed the methodology for the study to be undertaken for a Unified Arab Triptick (UAT).
