وقامت الجمعية العامة ليس بإحالة البرامج ذات الصلة إلى اللجنة الأولى فحسب، بل أحالت برامج إلى لجان رئيسية أخرى أيضا.

According to rule 98 of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly, the Sixth Committee was the Legal Committee, but many legal topics were being taken up by other Main Committees and the plenary General Assembly.

٣٦ - قرر المكتب توصية الجمعية العامة بأن تحيل البند ١٢٠ إلـى اللجنـة الخامسة، على أن يكـون مفهوما أن تقارير وحدة التفتيش المشتركة التي تتناول مواضيع محالة إلى لجان رئيسية أخرى ستحال أيضا إلى تلك اللجان.

42. The information contained in the report was relevant to the work of other Main Committees of the General Assembly and it was appropriate that they should also be given the opportunity to consider its contents, as that would enhance transparency and promote a more vital and constructive dialogue on all aspects of such an important subject.
42 - وقال إن المعلومات الواردة في التقرير تتعلق بأعمال لجان رئيسية أخرى تابعة للجمعية العامة وأنه من الملائم أيضا أن تتاح لها الفرصة لأن تنظر في محتوياته لأن ذلك سيعزز الشفافية ويشجع على مزيد من الحوار الحيوي والبناء حول جميع جوانب هذا الموضوع الهام.

In connection with item 127 of the draft agenda (Joint Inspection Unit), the General Committee may wish to recommend to the General Assembly, as was done at previous sessions, that the item should be allocated to the Fifth Committee, on the understanding that the reports of the Joint Inspection Unit dealing with subject-matters assigned to other Main Committees would be referred also to those Committees.

55. The Secretariat should inform the Committee whether the report before it would be taken up by other Main Committees or by CPC and what mechanisms had been put in place for the Committee's future consideration of the regular programme of technical cooperation and the Development Account, there being no corresponding programme in the biennial programme plan for the period 2006-2007 (A/59/6 (Part two)).
