In the Senate, a resolution has been issued urging its Committee on Human Rights to conduct an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the present case.

The relevance of UNICEF work in the promotion of the right to education has led, inter alia, the Commission on Human Rights to invite UNICEF to provide information and engage in an ongoing dialogue with the newly-appointed Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education.

The World Conference on Human Rights had been of the same opinion as the Committee, since it had encouraged the Commission on Human Rights to continue the examination of possible optional protocols, in cooperation with the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
وأضاف قائلا إن المؤتمر العالمي المعني بحقوق اﻹنسان قد وافق على رأي اللجنة نظرا ﻷنه شجع لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان على مواصلة النظر في مشروعي البروتوكولين الاختياريين الخاصين بالتعاون مع لجنة الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية.

5. Urges the Commission on Human Rights to take fully into account the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures, including enactment of national laws and their extraterritorial application, in its task concerning the implementation of the right to development;

15. Encourages the Commission on Human Rights to consider jointly, for the duration of the Decade, the question of the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education, 1995–2004, and public information activities in the field of human rights, including the World Public Information Campaign on Human Rights;
١٥ - تشجع لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان على النظر في آن واحد، طوال مدة العقد، في مسألة عقد اﻷمم المتحدة للتثقيف ١٩٩٥-٢٠٠٤ في مجال حقوق اﻹنسان واﻷنشطة اﻹعلاميـة في ميـدان حقـوق اﻹنسـان، بما في ذلك الحملة اﻹعلامية العالمية لحقوق اﻹنسان؛

2. Urges the Commission to continue to give priority consideration to the draft international convention on the protection of all persons from enforced disappearance;

For this reason, they would encourage the Human Rights Committee to consider the possibility of adopting complimentary standards on the interrelations between freedom of expression, freedom of religion and non-discrimination, in particular by drafting a general comment on article 20.
