The United Nations Safeguards guaranteeing the protection of the rights of those facing the death penalty requires that countries which maintain the death penalty should only use it for most serious crimes, offences which are intentional and with lethal or other extremely grave consequences.
وضمانات الأمم المتحدة التي تؤمن الحماية لحقوق الأشخاص الذين يواجهون عقوبة الإعدام تقتضي من البلدان التي أبقت على هذه العقوبة ألا تستخدمها إلا في حالات أخطر الجرائم والجنح التي تكون مقصودة وعواقبها تودي بحياة الآخرين أو بالغة الخطورة.
