48. The delegation mentioned that the Qatari foundation for the Protection of Women and Children aimed at protecting the unity of the family and society as a whole, and the protection of women and children from violence.

As part of outreach activities to protect women and children, the Qatar Foundation for the Protection of Women and Children has continued to combat discrimination against women by promoting a culture of women's rights and equality of opportunity. It has done so through a number of programmes, including by:

The Qatar Foundation for Child and Woman Protection was created on basis of the Resolution No. 5 of the Minister of Civil Service and Housing in the Year 2003 to replace the child's Friend Office.
