It must be acknowledged that although the United Nations has been actively engaged in considering problems involving nuclear energy for more than 60 years, and has made numerous efforts with regard to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, unfortunately mankind's concern and alarm have not diminished. During all those years the race to possess nuclear weapons has continued in one form or another.
ولا بد من الإقرار بأنه، رغم جهود الأمم المتحدة النشطة على مدى 60 عاما في النظر في المسائل المتعلقة بالطاقة النووية، والجهود العديدة التي بذلتها في مجال عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية، لا يزال هم الإنسانية وقلقها، للأسف، بدون تناقص، إذ استمر السباق لحيازة الأسلحة النووية قائما طيلة هذه السنين بشكل أو بآخر.
