2. It is also UNHCR’s responsibility to uphold the rights of asylum seekers, and thus to ensure that State responses to terrorism do not erode established principles of international refugee law.
٢- ومن مسؤوليات المفوضية أيضاً دعم حقوق طالبي اللجوء، وبالتالي ضمان ألا تؤدي المساعي التي تبذلها الدول للتصدي لﻹرهاب إلى الانتقاص من المبادئ الراسخة لقانون اللاجئين الدولي.

In closing, he hoped that the Ministerial Meeting would provide an opportunity for States to discuss and explore ways to further strengthen the current international regime for the protection of refugees, based on the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, which is often described as the " Magna Carta " of international refugee law.
واختتم بيانه بالإعراب عن أمله في أن يتيح الاجتماع الوزاري فرصة للدول لمناقشة واستكشاف فرص مواصلة تعزيز النظام الدولي الراهن لحماية اللاجئين، استناداً إلى اتفاقية عام 1951 الخاصة بوضع اللاجئين، التي كثيراً ما توصف بأنها " الميثاق الأعظم " لقانون اللاجئين الدولي.

The Handbook for Parliamentarians of the Inter-parliamentary Union and UNHCR, which helps parliamentarians to become familiar with the general principles of international refugee law, has now been translated into the five United Nations official languages, as well as into German, Hindi, Italian, and Japanese.
وقد تُرجم دليل البرلمانيين، الصادر عن المفوضية والاتحاد البرلماني الدولي بهدف مساعدة البرلمانيين في الاطلاع على المبادئ العامة لقانون اللاجئين الدولي(16)، إلى اللغات الرسمية الخمس الأخرى للأمم المتحدة، فضلا عن الألمانية والإيطالية والهندية واليابانية.
