8. The Internal Justice Council will present a report to the General Assembly with its views and recommendations on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the Dispute and Appeals Tribunals.

Resolution 62/228 specifies that the Internal Justice Council should provide two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal.
ويحدد القرار 62/228 بأنه يتعين على مجلس العدل الداخلي تقديم مرشحين اثنين أو ثلاثة لكل منصب شاغر في محكمة الأمم المتحدة للمنازعات.

(b) Provide its views and recommendations to the General Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and the United Nations Appeals Tribunal, with due regard to geographical distribution;

Following the competency assessment, the first meeting of the Inter-Agency Advisory Panel had shortlisted candidates for each open resident coordinator position.

In its resolution 62/228, the General Assembly decided that the Internal Justice Council shall provide its views and recommendations to the Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and the United Nations Appeals Tribunal.

20. In paragraph 37 (b) of resolution 62/228, the General Assembly decided that the Council should provide its views and recommendations to the Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and the United Nations Appeals Tribunal, with due regard to geographical distribution.

By the same resolution, the General Assembly established a five-member Internal Justice Council to, inter alia, provide its views and recommendations to the General Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the two new Tribunals, and to liaise with the Office of Human Resources Management on issues related to the search for suitable candidates for the positions of judges. Appointments of judges will be made by the General Assembly.

By paragraph 37 of that resolution, the Assembly decided that the Internal Justice Council should " provide its views and recommendations ... on two or three candidates " to the Assembly for each vacancy that occurred in the Tribunal, " with due regard to geographical distribution " .

7. The Council also took into account the General Assembly's decision, in paragraph 37 (b) of its resolution 62/228, that the Council " [p]rovide its views and recommendations to the General Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal " .

By paragraph 37 (b) of resolution 62/228, the General Assembly required the Internal Justice Council to " provide its views and recommendations to the General Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the Dispute Tribunal and the Appeals Tribunal, with due regard to geographical distribution " .

As its report indicates, the Council did, in its deliberations on the ad litem judges, take account of the General Assembly's decision, in paragraph 37 (b) of its resolution 62/228, that the Council " [p]rovide its views and recommendations to the General Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal " .

The mandate of the Internal Justice Council in respect of judicial recruitments is set out in paragraph 37 (b) of General Assembly resolution 62/228, which requires the Council to provide its views and recommendations to the General Assembly on two or three candidates for each vacancy in the United Nations Appeals Tribunal, with due regard to geographical distribution.
