It aims to assess the status of national implementation of environment statistics and environmental-economic accounting in countries. In order to reduce the reporting burden on countries, the Global Assessment was designed in two phases.
ويرمي هذا النشاط إلى تقييم الحالة التي وصل إليها التنفيذ الوطني للإحصاءات البيئية والمحاسبة البيئية - الاقتصادية في البلدان وعملا على التخفيف على البلدان من عبء تقديم التقارير، صمم التقييم العالمي ليكون تنفيذه على مرحلتين.

11. The objective of the work on harmonized metadata guidelines for environment statistics is to develop a set of generic core metadata for easy dissemination and exchange of data, taking into account the special characteristics of environment statistics.

The report describes the progress of work of the Committee of Experts; presents the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting for Water (SEEAW) for adoption; and reports on the results of the first phase of the Global Assessment on Environment Statistics and Environmental-Economic Accounting.
