Its first meeting, hosted by the National Center for Health Statistics of the United States, was held from 18 to 20 February 2002 in Washington, D.C. The planning group for this meeting was comprised of representatives of Australia, the Statistical Office of the European Communities (Eurostat), Mexico, Uganda and the United States of America.
