By its resolution 1995/50 of 28 July 1995, the Council decided that in 1996 the high-level meeting of the operational activities segment should focus on strengthening collaboration between the United Nations development system and the Bretton Woods institutions in the areas of social and economic development, at all levels, including the field level.
وقد قرر المجلس، في قراره ١٩٩٥/٥٠ المؤرخ ٢٨ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٥، أن يركﱢز الاجتماع الرفيع المستوى للجزء المتعلق باﻷنشطة التنفيذية في عام ١٩٩٦ على تعزيز التعاون بين جهاز اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي ومؤسسات بريتون وودز في مجالات التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية على جميع الصعد، بما فيها الصعيد الميداني. ـ

The Council, in accordance with its resolution 1994/33 on the operational activities segment of the Economic and Social Council, will consider a principal theme or themes for consideration at the high-level meeting of the operational activities segment of the substantive session of 1997.

By its decision 1994/293, the Council decided that the high-level meeting of the operational activities segment of its substantive session of 1995 would consider as a principal theme the implementation of the programme of action adopted by the International Conference on Population and Development.

6. At the 47th meeting, on 28 July, the President of the Council introduced a draft decision (E/1994/L.40) entitled " High-level meeting of the 1995 operational activities segment of the Economic and Social Council " submitted on the basis of informal consultations.

In the same resolution, the Council decided that the principal theme or themes for consideration at the high-level meeting of the operational activities segment should be agreed on by the Council at its substantive session; in that connection, the Council, on 28 July 1994, adopted decision 1994/293 on the high-level meeting of the 1995 operational activities segment of the Council.
