7. Arabic is the official language of the Republic of Yemen (article 2 of the Constitution). It is also the language of communication, education and information.

And since economic and social development constitutes the backbone of the internal policy of the Republic of Yemen, the success or failure of the Yemeni foreign policy could therefore be measured by its ability or inability to bring in foreign support in order to realize the main objective of its internal policy.
ولما كانت التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية هي محور السياسة الداخلية للجمهورية اليمنية فإن مقياس النجاح أو القصور في سياسة اليمن الخارجية لا بد أن يقاس بقدرتها، أو عدم قدرتها، على جلب الدعم الخارجي ﻷهم هدف ترتكز عليه سياستها الداخلية.

This position clearly reflects the good intentions of the Republic of Yemen and its constant concern to protect the distinguished historical relations between the two countries and to eradicate the anarchy that arose from the unexpected allegations of the Eritrean Government with regard to the Yemeni islands.

Yemen's share of ODA is presently much lower than it is in other developing countries, at $13 per capita annually, while least developed countries' share is $33 per capita annually. This means that we need to revise the scale of ODA allocated to Yemen.
ونود الإشارة هنا إلى أن نصيب الفرد في اليمن من المساعدات الرسمية الإنمائية يعادل 13 دولارا أمريكيا سنويا فقط، بينما المستوى العالمي لنصيب الفرد في أول الدول نموا يصل إلى 33 دولارا أمريكيا سنويا، الأمر الذي يستدعي إعادة النظر في حجم المساعدات الرسمية الإنمائية المقدمة للجمهورية اليمنية.
