٤٨/١٠ - السنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي

Noting also that the preparation for the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal will not involve any financial implications for the United Nations or its Member States, nor will it require the setting up of any administrative structure,
وإذ تلاحظ أيضا أن الاستعداد للسنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي لن ينطوي على أي أثر مالي بالنسبة إلى اﻷمم المتحدة أو دولها اﻷعضاء، ولن يتطلب إنشاء أي هيكل إداري،

For this reason we are particularly pleased that in this International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal it is also a Spaniard, Juan Antonio Samaranch, who is presiding over the destiny of the Olympic Movement.

The exhibition has been organized in connection with the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal and marks the 100th anniversary of the International Olympic Committee.
وقد نُظم المعرض في إطار السنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي وهو يأتي احتفالا بالذكرى المائة لتأسيس اللجنة اﻷوليمبية الدولية.

My country is therefore honoured today to join in sponsoring also the draft resolution entitled " International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal " .

Noting that the organization of the celebration for the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal at the national and international level will be coordinated by the International Olympic Committee, with the collaboration of the International Sports Federations and the national Olympic committees,
وإذ تلاحظ أن اللجنة اﻷوليمبية الدولية ستنسق، بالتعاون مع الاتحادات الرياضية الدولية واللجان اﻷوليمبية الوطنية، تنظيم الاحتفال بالسنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي على المستويين الوطني والدولي،

At its forty-eighth session the General Assembly proclaimed 1994 the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal, thereby emphasizing its commitment to the principles and objectives the Olympic Movement has constantly upheld and disseminated — that is, the building of a peaceful and better world by educating the youth of the world through sport allied to culture.
لقد أعلنت الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثامنة واﻷربعين سنة ١٩٩٤ السنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي مؤكدة بذلك على التزامها بالمبادئ واﻷهداف التي دأبت الحركة اﻷوليمبية دوما على رفع لوائها ونشرها، ألا وهي بناء عالم سلمي أفضل بتربية شباب العالم من خلال الرياضة المرتبطة بالثقافة.

To pay tribute to that organization, which is led and supported on a volunteer basis, the General Assembly at its forty-eighth session, in its resolution 48/10, proclaimed 1994 as the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal.
وإشادة بهذه المنظمة، التي تدار وتدعم على أساس طوعي، أعلنت الجمعية العامة، في دورتها الثامنة واﻷربعين بقرارها ٤٨/١٠ سنة ١٩٩٤ السنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي.

At that same forty-eighth session, in 1993, the General Assembly, following the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, adopted resolution 48/10, in connection with the centenary of the International Olympic Committee, declaring 1994 the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal.
وفي نفس هذه الدورة الثامنة واﻷربعين، عام ١٩٩٣، اتخذت الجمعية العامة، في أعقاب المؤتمر العام لمنظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة، القرار ٤٨/١٠ المتعلق بالذكرى السنوية المائة لتأسيس اللجنة اﻷوليمبية الدولية، معلنة عام ١٩٩٤ السنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي.

For their part, the African Heads of State and Government, meeting at Tunis in June 1994 and inspired by that same ideal, reaffirmed their support for the proclamation of 1994 as the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal in order to mobilize the youth of the whole world in the cause of peace.
وقد قام رؤساء الدول والحكومات الافريقية، من جانبهم، في اجتماعهم بتونس في حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٤ مستلهمين ذلك المثل اﻷعلى نفسه، بإعادة تأكيد تأييدهم ﻹعلان سنة ١٩٩٤ السنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي من أجل تعبئة شباب العالم بأسره لقضية السلم.

1. Congratulates the International Olympic Committee upon its centenary and for its activities organized to celebrate the observance of the International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal in 1994 in cooperation with the International Sports Federations and the National Olympic Committees;
١ - تهنئ اللجنة اﻷوليمبية الدولية بمرور مائة عام على إنشائها وعلى أنشطتها المنظمة للاحتفال بالسنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي في عام ٤٩٩١ بالتعاون مع الاتحادات الرياضية الدولية واللجان اﻷوليمبية الوطنية؛

2. Welcomes the report of the President of the International Olympic Committee transmitted to members of the General Assembly concerning the 1994 International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal; 2/
٢ - ترحب بتقرير رئيس اللجنة اﻷوليمبية الدولية الذي أحيل إلى أعضاء الجمعية العامة فيما يتعلق بالسنة الدولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي في عام ٤٩٩١)٢(؛

At that session, the General Assembly commemorated the centenary of the founding of the International Olympic Committee by proclaiming 1994 as International Year of Sport and the Olympic Ideal (resolution 48/10) and requested the Secretary-General to promote the observance of the Olympic Truce (resolution 48/11).
وفي تلك الدورة، أحيت الجمعية العامة ذكرى مرور مائة عام على إنشاء اللجنة اﻷوليمبية الدولية بإعلان سنة ٤٩٩١ سنة دولية للرياضة والمثل اﻷعلى اﻷوليمبي )القرار ٨٤/٠١( وطلبت إلى اﻷمين العام أن يشجع على مراعاة الهدنة اﻷوليمبية )القرار ٨٤/١١(.
