His Government was firmly committed to taking part in the activities planned for the final term of the Decade, and was confident that the Decade would make a significant contribution to the progressive development of international law, particularly in creating favourable legal conditions for the justice which was the basis for lasting peace.
وحكومته ملتزمة تماما بالمشاركة في اﻷنشطة المعتزمة للفترة الختامية للعقد، وهي واثقة أن العقد يقدم إسهاما كبيرا في التطوير التدريجي للقانون الدولي وخاصة في إيجاد الظروف القانونية الملائمة للعدالة التي هي أساس السلام الدائم.

2. Expresses its appreciation to States and international organizations and institutions that have undertaken activities, including sponsoring conferences on various subjects of international law, in implementation of the programme for the activities for the final term (1997–1999) of the Decade;
٢ - تعرب عن تقديرها للدول والمنظمات والمؤسسات الدولية التي اضطلعت بأنشطة، بما في ذلك رعاية المؤتمرات المعنية بمختلف مواضيع القانون الدولي تنفيذا لبرنامج اﻷنشطة للفترة الختامية )١٩٩٧-١٩٩٩( من العقد؛

1. Expresses its appreciation to the Sixth Committee for the elaboration, within the framework of its Working Group on the United Nations Decade of International Law, of the programme for the activities for the final term (1997-1999) of the Decade, and requests the Working Group to continue its work at the fifty-second session in accordance with its mandate and methods of work;
١ - تعرب عن تقديرها للجنة السادسة لقيامها، في إطار فريقها العامل المعني بعقد اﻷمم المتحدة للقانون الدولي، بوضع برنامج اﻷنشطة للفترة الختامية )١٩٩٧-١٩٩٩( من العقد، وتطلب إلى الفريق العامل أن يواصل عمله في الدورة الثانية والخمسين وفقا للولاية المنوطة به وﻷساليب عمله؛

Recalling also its resolution 51/157 of 16 December 1996, to which was annexed the programme for the activities for the final term (1997–1999) of the Decade, its resolution 51/158 of 16 December 1996, entitled “Electronic treaty database”, and its resolution 52/153 of 15 December 1997,

Bearing in mind the nature of the questions raised as well as the programme for the activities for the final term (1997-1999) of the United Nations Decade of International Law, adopted by the General Assembly at its fifty-first session, it is proposed that this question be considered in the Sixth (Legal) Committee of the General Assembly as a sub-item of the item entitled " United Nations Decade of International Law " .
ومع مراعاة طبيعة المسائل المطروحة، وكذلك برنامج اﻷنشطة للفترة الختامية )١٩٩٧-١٩٩٩( من عقد اﻷمم المتحدة للقانون الدولي، الذي اعتمدته الجمعية العامة في دورتها الحادية والخمسين، فإنه من المقترح أن تنظر اللجنة السادسة )القانونية( للجمعية العامة في هذه المسألة بوصفها بندا فرعيا في إطار البند المعنون " عقد اﻷمم المتحدة للقانون الدولي " .
