253- وفي هذا السياق، رحَّب الوزراء بعزم وتصميم منظمة الأمم المتحدة على تعزيز علاقاتها وتعاونها مع المنظمات الإقليمية ودون الإقليمية وخاصة الاتحاد الأفريقي طبقاً للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

We are also committed to further promoting close cooperation and effective partnerships between the United Nations and its regional and subregional partners, in particular the African Union and the European Union, in accordance with Chapter VIII of the United Nations Charter.

وكما انعكس في بيان رئاسي الذي وافق عليه المجلس في الجلسة (S/PRST/2007/7)، سلم المجلس بأهمية دور المنظمات الإقليمية في منع نشوب الصراعات وإدارتها وحلها، وفقا للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

The Ministers called for the intensification of the process of consultations, cooperation, and coordination between the UN and regional and sub-regional organizations, arrangements, or agencies, in accordance with Chapter VIII of the UN Charter, as well as on their mandate, scope and composition, which is useful and can contribute to the maintenance of international peace and security;
252- دعا الوزراء إلى تكثيف عملية التشاور والتعاون بين الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات أو الترتيبات أو الوكالات الإقليمية ودون الإقليمية، وفقاً للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة وكذلك وفق ولايتها ونطاقها وتشكيلها، الأمر الذي يمكن أن يكون مفيداً وأن يسهم في صون السلم والأمن الدوليين.

In this context, the Heads of State or Government welcomed the determination of the United Nations to enhance its relationship and cooperation with Regional and Sub-Regional Organizations, in particular the African Union in accordance with Chapter VIII of the UN Charter.
238 - وفي هذا السياق، رحب رؤساء الدول والحكومات بعزم وتصميم منظمة الأمم المتحدة على تعزيز علاقتها وتعاونها مع المنظمات الإقليمية وشبه الإقليمية وخاصة الاتحاد الأفريقي وذلك طبقا للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

237 - دعا رؤساء الدول والحكومات إلى تكثيف عملية التشاور والتعاون والتنسيق بين الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات أو الترتيبات أو الوكالات الإقليمية وشبه الإقليمية، وفقا للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة وكذلك وفق صلاحياتها ونطاقها وتشكيلها، الأمر الذي يمكن أن يكون مفيدا وأن يسهم في صون السلم والأمن الدوليين.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs provided an assessment of the relationship between the United Nations and the African Union at both the institutional and operational levels, and called for a more innovative interpretation of Chapter VIII of the Charter of the United Nations.
وقدم وزير الشؤون الخارجية تقييما للعلاقة القائمة بين الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي على الصعيدين المؤسسي والتنفيذي كليهما، ودعا إلى تفسير أكثر إبداعا للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.
