According to the National Council for Human Rights, the culture and knowledge of human rights is a core challenge to the Egyptian society.

1. A technical committee was set up to prepare the Sudan's two reports on the Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child under the chairmanship of the SecretaryGeneral of the National Council for Child Welfare and with members drawn from the following bodies:

321- وتُهنِّئ اللجنة حكومة مصر على إيفادها وفدا كبيرا رفيع المستوى برئاسة الأمينة العامة للمجلس القومي للمرأة وتُعرب اللجنة عن تقديرها للحوار المفتوح الذي جرى بين الوفد وأعضاء اللجنة.

Discussions between the Sudanese Government and the United Nations began with a first meeting held on 20 January 2008 in the presence of the Secretary-General of the National Council for Child Welfare.

وتلاحظ اللجنة أيضاً مع التقدير أن وحدات لكفالة تكافؤ الفرص أُنشئت في معظم الوزارات، وأن الوحدة المعنية بالقضايا المتصلة بالاتفاقية، التي أُنشئت ضمن الهيكل التنظيمي للمجلس القومي للمرأة، قد أصبحت الآن وحدة دائمة.

19. The Committee takes note of the establishment by the parliament in 2003 of the National Council for Human Rights of Egypt, an advisory body with consultative functions, as well as the establishment in 2001 of the Ombudsman's Office, or office for women's complaints, within the National Council for Women.
19 - تحيط اللجنة علما بإنشاء البرلمان في عام 2003 للمجلس القومي لحقوق الإنسان في مصر، وهو هيئة ذات مهام استشارية، فضلا عن إنشاء مكتب شكاوى المرأة ومتابعتها في عام 2001 في المجلس القومي للمرأة.

Several such organizations are members of the Technical Consultative Committee of the National Council of Childhood and Motherhood, the body in charge of drafting policies under the chairmanship of the First Lady. The associations are also members of the National Committee for the Elimination of Violence against Children and the protection committees set up by Act No. 126 of 2008.
وتشارك العديد من الجمعيات الأهلية في عضوية اللجنة الفنية الاستشارية للمجلس القومي للطفولة والأمومة وهي جهة رسم السياسات برئاسة السيدة الأولى، وتمثل الجمعيات في اللجنة الوطنية لمناهضة العنف ضد الطفل ولجان الحماية المنشأة بموجب القانون رقم 126 في 2008، وهناك شراكة قوية بين المجلس والجمعيات الأهلية.

172. The third meeting of the National Council for Child Welfare held on Thursday, 6 September 2007, adopted the following recommendations regarding female circumcision:
173- أجاز الاجتماع الثالث للمجلس القومي لرعاية الطفولة يوم الخميس الموافق 6 أيلول/سبتمبر 2007 التوصيات التالية الواردة بشأن ختان الإناث في وثائق الاجتماع:

22. The third meeting of the National Council for Child Welfare held on Thursday, 6 September 2007, adopted the recommendations on the elimination of female circumcision pursuant to the strategy.
22- وأجاز الاجتماع الثالث للمجلس القومي لرعاية الطفولة يوم الخميس الموافق 6 أيلول/سبتمبر 2007 التوصيات الواردة بشأن مناهضة ختان الإناث وفقاً للإستراتيجية.

16. The Committee notes as positive awareness-raising activities on child prostitution and pornography in particularly vulnerable rural areas by mobile units of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood.
16- تلاحظ اللجنة بنظرة إيجابية أنشطة التوعية بشأن بغاء الأطفال واستغلالهم في مواد إباحية والتي تضطلع بها وحدات متنقلة تابعة للمجلس القومي للأمومة والطفولة، في المناطق الريفية الضعيفة.
