1.1.1 The objective of the present document is to provide guidance on the environmentally sound management (ESM) of used and end-of-life computing equipment.

By decision VIII/5, the Conference of the Parties adopted the workplan of the Basel Convention Partnership Programme for 2007 - 2008, which described the development of a multi-stakeholder partnership that would address the environmentally sound management of used and end-of-life computing equipment.

2- وبمقرر الفريق العامل المفتوح العضوية 7/3، طلب الفريق من الشراكة أن تعد وتنقِّح، لدى تلقيها التعليقات، مشروع وثيقة توجيهية شاملة بشأن الإدارة السليمة بيئياً للمعدات الحاسوبية المستعملة والهالكة.

In paragraph 3 of decision BC-11/15, the Conference of the Parties adopted sections 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the guidance document on environmentally sound management of used and endoflife computing equipment developed by the Partnership (UNEP/CHW.11/6/Add.1/Rev.10. annex).
