The Committee had recently reduced the number of meetings allocated to consideration of periodic reports from three to two on a provisional basis. However, it attached great importance to its constructive dialogue with representatives of States parties and would do its utmost to ensure that the more limited time available for such dialogue did not have a negative impact on the quality of the discussions and their outcome.
