Consequently, the Council might wish to invite the Director-General of UNESCO to consult with other United Nations entities on the implementation of and follow-up to resolutions 2001/39 and 2004/9 and to the Declarations adopted by UNESCO, and to constitute an inter-agency coordination mechanism, such as an ad hoc inter-agency task force on genetic privacy and non-discrimination.

At its fifty-ninth session, the General Assembly invited Governments to promote public awareness of and wider participation in the Decade through cooperation with and initiatives engaging civil society and other relevant stakeholders, and requested the Secretary-General to invite the Director-General of UNESCO to prepare and submit a midterm review of the implementation of the Decade to the Assembly at its sixty-fifth session (resolution 59/237).
وفي الدورة التاسعة والخمسين، دعت الجمعية العامة الحكومات إلى تعزيز الوعي العام بالعقد وتشجيع المساهمة فيه على نطاق أوسع من خلال التعاون مع المجتمع المدني وأصحاب المصلحة الآخرين ذوي الصلة واتخاذ المبادرات بمشاركتهم، وطلبت إلى الأمين العام أن يدعو المدير العام لليونسكو إلى إعداد استعراض لمنتصف المدة عن تنفيذ العقد، بغية عرضه على الجمعية العامة في دورتها الخامسة والستين (القرار 59/237).
