The operations of the Regional Task Force continue to make a difference in the fight against the Lord's Resistance Army, although recent setbacks threaten to undermine the full operationalization of the Regional Cooperation Initiative for the Elimination of the Lord's Resistance Army and the implementation of the United Nations regional strategy.

Although communication is now established between the Regional Task Force headquarters and African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, the full operationalization of the Regional Cooperation Initiative for the Elimination of the Lord's Resistance Army is dependent on mobilizing the resources and equipment required to establish reliable communications between Regional Task Force headquarters and the three sectors concerned.

(b) To build international political, military and donor support for the African Union-led Regional Cooperation Initiative against LRA and for the implementation of the United Nations regional strategy;

The full operationalization of the Regional Cooperation Initiative against the Lord's Resistance Army is dependent on mobilizing resources and equipment for the Regional Task Force at its headquarters in Yambio (South Sudan) and the three sectors: Nzara (South Sudan), Dungu (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Obo (Central African Republic).
51 - ويتوقف التفعيل التام لمبادرة التعاون الإقليمي ضد جيش الرب للمقاومة على تعبئة الموارد والمعدات اللازمة لمقر فرقة العمل الإقليمية في يامبيو (جنوب السودان) ولقطاعاتها الثلاثة في: نزارا (جنوب السودان)، ودونغو (جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية)، وأوبو (جمهورية أفريقيا الوسطى).

The Second Regional Ministerial meeting of the affected countries, held in Addis Ababa in June 2011, defined the strategic objective of a proposed African Union Regional Cooperation Initiative against LRA as the " elimination of the Lord's Resistance Army, leading to the creation of a secure and stable environment in the affected countries " .

20. With regard to the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), UNMISS facilitated an assessment mission by my Special Representative for Central Africa, Abou Moussa, and the African Union Special Envoy on the LRA issue, Francisco Madeira, to the task force in Western Equatoria State of the African Union Regional Cooperation Initiative for the Elimination of the Lord's Resistance Army.
20 - فيما يتعلق بجيش الرب للمقاومة، يسرت بعثة الأمم المتحدة في جمهورية جنوب السودان إيفاد بعثة تقييم قام بها ممثلي الخاص لوسط أفريقيا، أبو موسى، والمبعوث الخاص للاتحاد الأفريقي، فرانسيسكو ماديرا، إلى فرقة المهام العاملة في ولاية غرب الاستوائية والتابعة لمبادرة التعاون الإقليمي للاتحاد الأفريقي المتعلقة بالقضاء على جيش الرب للمقاومة.

(a) Welcoming the efforts by the Governments of the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan and Uganda to promote the protection of children affected by LRA and to end the threat posed by LRA, expressing in this context its support for the African Union-led Regional Cooperation Initiative against LRA, launched on 24 March 2012, and urging further progress towards its operationalization and implementation;
