As a result of a sharpened focus and the pursuit of management excellence, the anticipated outcome is for UN-Habitat to become by 2013:

In that context, Ethiopia called on the international community to contribute to the Water and Sanitation Trust Fund, the Slum Upgrading Facility and the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund so as to enable UN-Habitat to help the developing countries provide adequate shelter and basic services.

On 12 January 2004, the Assistant SecretaryGeneral, Controller, requested the Executive Director of UNHabitat to prepare the strategic framework and submit it to the United Nations Office of Programme Planning, Budget and AccountsProgramme Planning and Budget Division , UNHQOffice NOTE TO SECRETARIAT: WHAT PROGRAMME PLANNING AND BUDGET OFFICE? OF HABITAT?
وفي 12 كانون الثاني/يناير 2004 طلب الأمين العام المساعد، مراقب الحسابات، إلى المديرة التنفيذية لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن تعد إطاراً استراتيجياً وأن تقدمه إلى مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتخطيط البرنامج والميزانية والحسابات في موعد أقصاه 15 شباط/فبراير 2004.

7. Requests the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to strengthen the implementation of the Habitat Agenda Task Manager System to allow better monitoring and mutual enforcement of actions taken in the implementation of the Habitat Agenda;
7 - يطلب إلى المدير التنفيذي لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يعزز تنفيذ نظام مديري مهام جدول أعمال الموئل لكي يتسنى تحسين الرصد والتعزيز المتبادل للإجراءات المتخذة لتنفيذ جدول أعمال الموئل؛

The transformation has enabled UN-Habitat to participate in the meeting of the Chief Executives Board of the United Nations System for Coordination, which is the highest-level inter-agency coordinating mechanism within the United Nations system.
وقد أتاح هذا التحويل لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يشارك في اجتماع المجلس التنسيقي للرؤساء التنفيذيين في منظومة الأمم المتحدة، وهو آلية التنسيق المشتركة بين الوكالات على أعلى مستوى داخل منظومة الأمم المتحدة.

The draft resolution required the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to ensure the organization's involvement in the formulation of the post-2015 agenda, to encourage Governments and partners to consider and contribute to sustainable urbanization, and to report on the implementation of the resolution.
ويطلب مشروع القرار إلى المدير التنفيذي لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يكفل مشاركة المنظمة في صياغة خطة التنمية لما بعد عام 2015، وأن يشجع الحكومات والشركاء على بحث التحضر المستدام والمساهمة فيه، وأن يقدم تقريراً عن تنفيذ القرار.

7. Requests the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to further strengthen her efforts to make the Cities Alliance initiative an effective means for the implementation of the twin goals of the Habitat Agenda, namely, adequate shelter for all and sustainable human settlements development in an urbanizing world;
7 - تطلب إلى المديرة التنفيذية لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن توالي تعزيز جهودها لجعل مبادرة تحالف المدن وسيلة ناجعة لتنفيذ هدفي جدول أعمال الموئل، أي توفير المأوى الملائم للجميع وتنمية المستوطنات البشرية على نحو مستدام في عالم آخذ في التحضر؛

4. Calls on the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to cooperate fully with the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States to ensure the effective implementation of the Brussels Declaration and the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the Decade 2001-2010.
4 - يناشد المديرة التنفيذية لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن تتعاون تعاوناً كاملاً مع مكتب الممثل الأعلى لأقل البلدان نمواً، والبلدان النامية غير الساحلية، والبلدان الجزرية الصغيرة النامية وذلك لضمان فعالية تنفيذ إعلان بروكسل وبرنامج العمل لأقل البلدان نمواً للعقد الزمني 2001 - 2010.

15. Requests the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to inform the Governing Council of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme of the results of the discussions on the topics of water, sanitation and human settlements at the twelfth session of the Commission on Sustainable Development;
15 - تطلب إلى المديرة التنفيذية لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن تبلغ مجلس إدارة برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمستوطنات البشرية بنتائج مناقشات مواضيع المياه والصرف الصحي والمستوطنات البشرية في الدورة الثانية عشرة للجنة التنمية المستدامة؛

12. On the basis of field interviews in Kenya and South Africa, OIOS found that, following political reform in those two countries, the respective Governments adopted pro-poor housing policies which in turn allowed UN-Habitat to provide assistance on normative issues and institutional reform.
12 - ووجد مكتب خدمات الرقابة الداخلية، استنادا إلى عدد قليل من المقابلات التي أُجريت في كينيا وجنوب أفريقيا، أن حكومتي البلدين اعتمدتا سياسات إسكانية تناصر الفقراء بعد الإصلاح السياسي في البلدين، مما أتاح لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يقدم مساعدة متعلقة بالقضايا المعيارية والإصلاح المؤسسي.

The Assembly also reiterated its encouragement to Member States, UN-Habitat and all relevant stakeholders to take appropriate measures to implement Governing Council resolution 24/4 and requested the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to strengthen the mainstreaming of gender equality and women's empowerment in the normative and operational work of UN-Habitat.
وأكّدت الجمعية العامة أيضاً مجدَّداً تشجيعها للدول الأعضاء وموئل الأمم المتحدة وجميع أصحاب المصلحة المعنيين على اتخاذ التدابير المناسبة لتنفيذ قرار مجلس الإدارة 24/4 وطلبت إلى المدير التنفيذي لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يعزِّز تعميم المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة في العمل المعياري والتشغيلي للموئل.

24. While planning for its new strategic plan for the period 2014-2019, there is a need for UN-Habitat to finalize its results-based management policy and to develop an implementation manual that strengthens the monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions, as well as complying with the Governing Council directives.
٢٤ - وفي سياق التخطيط لوضع الخطة الاستراتيجية الجديدة للفترة 2014-2019، من الضروري لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يبلور سياسته العامة للإدارة القائمة على النتائج وأن يعد دليلا للتنفيذ يعزز مهام الرصد والتقييم والإبلاغ، فضلا عن الامتثال لتوجيهات مجلس الإدارة.

30. At its most recent session, the Commission on Human Settlements, by resolution 18/5 of 16 February 2001,5 requested the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to promote the merger of the Urban Environment Forum and the International Forum on Urban Poverty into a new urban forum, a decision affirmed by the General Assembly in resolution 56/206.
30 - وفي آخر دورة للجنة المستوطنات البشرية طلبت اللجنة، في قرارها 18/5 المؤرخ 16 شباط/فبراير 2001()، إلى المدير التنفيذي لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يسعى إلى دمج المنتدى البيئي الحضري والمنتدى الدولي المعني بالفقر الحضري في منتدى حضري جديد، وهو قرار أكدته الجمعية العامة في قرارها 56/206.

12. At its eighteenth session, the Commission on Human Settlements, in its resolution 18/5,5 requested the Executive Director of UN-Habitat to promote a merger of the Urban Environment Forum and the International Forum on Urban Poverty into a new Urban Forum.
12 - وفي الدورة الثامنة عشرة للجنة المستوطنات البشرية، طلبت اللجنة، في قرارها 18/5(5) إلى المديرة التنفيذية لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن تعمل على دمج المنتدى البيئي الحضري والمنتدى الدولي المعني بالفقر الحضري في منتدى حضري جديد.

56. Governments and financial institutions are encouraged to contribute generously to the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund and the Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian people to enable UN-Habitat to assist in resolving the long-term deterioration in human settlement conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and in fully realizing the objectives of the Programme.
56 - وتُشجع الحكومات والمؤسسات المالية على الإسهام بسخاء في الصندوق الاستئماني للتعاون التقني وبرنامج المستوطنات البشرية الخاص بالشعب الفلسطيني وذلك ليتسنى لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يساعد على حل مشكلة التردي منذ فترة طويلة في أحوال المستوطنات البشرية في الأراضي الفلسطينية وأن يحقق بشكل تام أهداف البرنامج.

25. The international donor community and all financial institutions are encouraged to contribute generously to the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund and the Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian people to enable UN-Habitat to assist in resolving the long-term deterioration in human settlement conditions in the Occupied Palestine Territory and in fully realizing the objectives of the Programme.
25 - وتُشجع دوائر الجهات المانحة الدولية وجميع المؤسسات المالية على الإسهام بسخاء في الصندوق الاستئماني للتعاون التقني وبرنامج المستوطنات البشرية الخاص بالشعب الفلسطيني وذلك ليتسنى لموئل الأمم المتحدة أن يساعد على حل مشكلة التردي منذ فترة طويلة في أحوال المستوطنات البشرية في الأراضي الفلسطينية وأن يحقق بشكل تام أهداف البرنامج.

6. Reiterates its encouragement to Member States, UN-Habitat and all relevant stakeholders to take appropriate measures to implement Governing Council resolution 24/4 of 19 April 2013, and requests the Executive Director of UNHabitat to strengthen the mainstreaming of gender equality and women's empowerment in the normative and operational work of UN-Habitat;
