With regard to the decision of the Committee on Conferences to replace the title of the agenda item " Improved organization of work and effective use of conference resources " , with " Improved utilization of conference-servicing resources " (A/48/32/Rev.1, para. 32), Cuba would like to know what had prompted the change, given that the Committee on Conferences had an important role to play in the organization of work.
وفيما يخص قرار اللجنة بالاستعاضة عن صيغة العبارة " تحسين تنظيم اﻷعمال والاستعمال الفعال لموارد خدمة المؤتمرات " بالعبارة " تحسين الانتفاع بموارد خدمة المؤتمرات " A/48/32/Rev.1)، الفقرة ٣٢(، يود وفد كوبا أن يعرف ما هو السبب الداعي إلى هذا التغيير بما أن اللجنة تقوم بدور هام بتنظيم اﻷعمال.

70. The Committee requested the Secretariat, when drafting the letters of authorization to the aforementioned bodies, to continue to include data on their utilization of conference-servicing resources when they had met in the past during the General Assembly and to encourage the bodies in question, inter alia, to inform the Secretariat of the anticipated duration of meetings so as to achieve maximum utilization of conference-servicing resources.
٠٧ - طلبت اللجنة الى اﻷمانة العامة أن تواصل، عند صياغة رسائل اﻹذن للهيئات السالفة الذكر، إدراج بيانات عن استخدامها لموارد خدمة المؤتمرات عندما اجتمعت في الماضي أثناء الجمعية العامة وأن تشجع الهيئات المعنية على أن تقوم، في جملة أمور، بإعلام اﻷمانة بالمدة المتوقعة للاجتماعات بغية تحقيق الاستفادة القصوى من موارد خدمة المؤتمرات.

15. Moreover in paragraph 16 of section A of its resolution 52/214 of 22 December 1997, the General Assembly reiterated its request to the Committee on Conferences, in consultation with the organs concerned, to examine the cases where the utilization factor had been lower than 80 per cent for at least three sessions, with a view to making appropriate recommendations in order to achieve the optimum utilization of conference-servicing resources.
١٥ - وعلاوة على ذلك، فإن الجمعية العامة، في الفقرة ١٦ من الجزء ألف من قرارها ٥٢/٢١٤ المؤرخ ٢٢ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٧، كررت طلبها إلى لجنة المؤتمرات أن تدرس، بالتشاور مع اﻷجهزة المعنية، الحالات التي كان فيها معامل الاستخدام أدنى من ٨٠ في المائة لثلاث دورات على اﻷقل، بغية تقديم توصيات ملائمة من أجل تحقيق الاستخدام اﻷمثل لموارد خدمة المؤتمرات.

21. Three intergovernmental bodies that had previously underutilized conference-servicing resources had reached or surpassed the established benchmark of 80 per cent in 2006 as a result of careful planning and ongoing dialogue with conference services.
21 - وتمكنت ثلاث هيئات حكومية دولية كانت ناقصة الاستخدام في السابق لموارد خدمة المؤتمرات من وصول أو تجاوز النسبة المرجعية المحددة بـ 80 في المائة في عام 2006 نتيجة للتخطيط الدقيق والحوار المستمر مع خدمات المؤتمرات.

This arrangement allows for integrated management of the conference-servicing resources in the four duty stations with a view to achieving the efficient utilization of resources. " (A/56/6 (Sect. 2), para. 2.5)
