The resolution also gave the figure of 4,499 Azerbaijanis listed as missing as a result of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict and declared that:
ووردت في القرار أيضا إشارة إلى 499 4 أذربيجانيا يعتبرون في عداد المفقودين نتيجة لنزاع ناغورني كاراباخ()، وصُرح فيه بما يلي:

1. In accordance with the decisions of the United Nations Security Council, after consultations with the Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), we submit a progress report on the Minsk process and on the efforts undertaken within its framework for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
١ - وفقا لمقررات مجلس اﻷمن التابع لﻷمم المتحدة، وبعد التشاور مع الرئيس الحالي لمنظمة اﻷمن والتعاون في أوروبا، نقدم إليكم تقريرا مرحليا عن عملية مينسك وعن الجهود المبذولة في إطاره من أجل التسوية السلمية لنزاع ناغورني كاراباخ.

1. The current phase of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict started in 1988, when, in response to a just demand for self-determination by the population of Nagorny Karabakh, the authorities of the Azerbaijani SSR perpetrated massacres and ethnic cleansing of Armenians all over the country.
1 - بدأت المرحلة الحالية لنزاع ناغورني كاراباخ في عام 1988، حينما ارتكبت سلطات جمهورية أذربيجان الاشتراكية السوفياتية مذابح وتطهيرا عرقيا طال الأرمينيين في جميع أرجاء البلد ردا على المطالبة العادلة لسكان ناغورني كاراباخ بتقرير المصير.

He assured all Armenians that " the peaceful resolution to the Nagorny Karabakh conflict will be first and foremost based on the consent and free will of the people of Artsakh " .

16. In response to Azerbaijan's destructive conduct in the peace negotiations, the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on 19 February 2009 issued a joint statement, in which they stressed that, despite the two reports circulated at the request of the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the United Nations on 22 and 26 December 2008, there is no military solution to the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
16 - وردا على السلوك التدميري الأذربيجاني في مفاوضات السلام، أصدر الرؤساء المشاركون في مجموعة مينسك التابعة لمنظمة الأمن والتعاون في أوروبا بيانا مشتركا في 19 شباط/فبراير 2009، أكدوا فيه أنه، على الرغم من التقريرين الذين عمما بناء على طلب من الممثل الدائم لأذربيجان لدى الأمم المتحدة في 22 و 26 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2008، لا يوجد حل عسكري لنزاع ناغورني كاراباخ.

of the Security Council Pursuant to operative paragraph 8 of Security Council resolution 884 (1993) and after consultations with the Chairman of the Council of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE), Mr. Antonio Martino, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy, I wish to report on the present efforts made by the CSCE Minsk Group to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.

Pursuant to paragraph 8 of Security Council resolution 884 (1993), after consultations with the Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and with reference to our letter of 21 March 1995, we wish to provide the Security Council with additional information on the efforts made in the framework of the OSCE Minsk process for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
