٢ - تقرر تعزيز دور لجنة اﻹعلام بوصفها الهيئة الفرعية الرئيسية التابعة لها الموكول إليها تقديم التوصيات المتصلة بأعمال إدارة شؤون اﻹعلام التابعة لﻷمانة العامة؛

At its fifty-third session, the Assembly took note of the report of the Committee4 and adopted consensus resolutions 53/59 A and B of 3 December 1998, in which it reiterated its decision to consolidate the role of the Committee as its main subsidiary body mandated to make recommendations to the Assembly relating to the work of the Department of Public Information.
وفي دورتها الثالثة والخمسين، أحاطت الجمعية العامة علما بتقرير اللجنة)٤(، واتخذت بتوافق اﻵراء القرارين ٥٣/٥٩ ألف وباء المؤرخين ٣ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨، وكررت فيها تأكيد قرارها تعزيز دور اللجنة بوصفها الهيئة الفرعية الرئيسية التابعة لها الموكول إليها تقديم توصيات إلى الجمعية بشأن عمل إدارة شؤون اﻹعلام.
