٥ - وفيما بعد أكد الفريق أن اﻹعداد لهذا العنصر البرنامجي ينبغي أن يفيد كل الفائدة من أعمال مؤتمر اﻷطراف في اتفاقية اﻷمم المتحدة للتنوع البيولوجي وأن يقيم صلات معها.

92. The Panel felt that the substantive discussion of this programme element would require careful attention's being paid to the financial implications of the proposals to be considered.
٩٢ - ورأى الفريق أن المناقشة الفنية لهذا العنصر البرنامجي ستستلزم دراسة متأنية لﻵثار المالية المترتبة على المقترحات التي سينظر فيها.

It aims to provide a preliminary overview of the issues related to trade in forest products in general as well as its implications for the environment and sustainable forest management, in preparing for the substantive discussion of this programme element at the third session of the Panel.
وترمي إلى تقديم لمحة عامة أولية عن المسائل المتصلة بالتجارة في منتجات الغابات عموما، فضلا عن انعكاساتها على البيئة واﻹدارة المستدامة للغابات، وذلك تحضيرا للمناقشة الموضوعية لهذا العنصر البرنامجي في الدورة الثالثة للفريق.

Preparation of the report benefited from the outcome of the inter-sessional workshop on finance (co-sponsored by the Government of Denmark, South Africa and UNDP, and convened from 4 to 7 June 1996 in Pretoria, South Africa) held in support of this programme element, as well as relevant material produced by the Commission on Sustainable Development.
وقد استفيد لدى إعداد هذا التقرير من نتيجة حلقة العمل التي تتخلل الدورات المعنية بالتمويل )التي اشترك في رعايتها كل من حكومة الدانمرك وجنوب افريقيا وبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي، وانعقدت في بريتوريا بجنوب افريقيا في الفترة من ٤ حتى ٧ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٦، والتي عقدت دعما لهذا العنصر البرنامجي( كما استفيد من المواد ذات الصلة التي قدمتها لجنة التنمية المستدامة.

4. The present note provides the basis for further deliberations by IFF on programme element II.b based on the outcome of the substantive discussion of this programme element at the second session of IFF, held at Geneva from 24 August to 4 September 1998 (see E/CN.17/IFF/1998/14, sect. II.B).
