إن أعضاء لجنة اﻟ ٢٤ يفهمون تماما أننا ليس من واجبنا تحديد مركز سياسي معين لﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي المتبقية.

Mr. KAUL (Germany), speaking on behalf of the European Union, confirmed its support for the principle of self-determination and for actions consistent with the United Nations Charter aimed at the elimination of colonialism, irrespective of the geographic location and population size of the remaining Non-Self-Governing Territories.

6. Specific characteristics of the remaining Non-Self-Governing Territories should in no way prevent their populations from exercising their inalienable right to self-determination in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and General Assembly resolutions 1514 (XV) and 1541 (XV);
٦ - لا ينبغي للخصائص المحددة لﻷقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي المتبقية أن تحول، بأي حال من اﻷحوال، دون ممارسة سكانها لحقهم غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير المصير، وفقا لميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وقراري الجمعية العامة ١٥١٤ ) د - ١٥( و ١٥٤١ )د - ١٥(؛
