As you will recall, in its presidential statement dated 21 January 1999 (PRST/1999/3), the Security Council underlined the importance it attached to a continued multidisciplinary presence of the United Nations in Angola.
وكما تذكرون، ففي البيان الرئاسي لمجلس اﻷمن المؤرخ ٢١ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٩ (PRST/1999/3)، شدد المجلس على اﻷهمية التي يعلقها على وجود مستمر متعدد التخصصات لﻷمم المتحدة في أنغولا.

In addition to the question of national reconciliation whose specific principles and modalities are currently the subject of discussion at the Lusaka talks, the future mandate of the United Nations in Angola and the role of the observers and the new mechanism which will be responsible for the implementation of the " Acordos de Paz " and the Lusaka Protocol remain to be agreed upon.
٩ - وبالاضافة الى مسألة المصالحة الوطنية التي تجري حاليا مناقشة مبادئها المحددة وطرائقها في محادثات لوساكا، لم يتم الاتفاق حتى اﻵن بشأن الولاية المقبلة لﻷمم المتحدة في أنغولا والدور المقبل للمراقبين واﻵلية الجديدة التي ستتولى مسؤولية تنفيذ " اتفاقات السلم " وبروتوكول لوساكا.

9. Once the remaining issues relating to national reconciliation are resolved, the last item on the agenda, namely the future mandate of the United Nations in Angola and the role of the observer States, is not expected to present major difficulties or to take a great deal of time since a measure of agreement has already been reached on it.
٩ - وبمجرد أن تحل القضايا المتبقية المتصلة بالمصالحة الوطنية، فإن البند اﻷخير في جدول اﻷعمال، وهو الولاية المقبلة لﻷمم المتحدة في أنغولا ودور الدول المراقبة، لا يتوقع أن يثير صعوبات كبيرة أو أن يستغرق وقتا طويلا حيث أنه قد تحقق بالفعل قدر من اﻹتفاق بشأنه.
