At a time when the international community is commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Government of Ethiopia is continuing its gross violation of the human rights of Eritreans and Ethiopians of Eritrean origin residing in Ethiopia.

We choose to present the facts on the questions of aggression; Ethiopia's forceful occupation of our land; its criminal violations of the human rights of Eritreans and of Ethiopians of Eritrean origin resident in Ethiopia; the expulsions; the confiscation of property and so forth; and Eritrea's attempts to achieve a peaceful solution.

In total disregard of all international calls to desist from violating the human rights of Eritreans and Ethiopians of Eritrean origin, the Ethiopian regime continues it wanton detention and mass expulsion of people of Eritrean origin, as well as the expropriation of their property.
النظام اﻹثيوبي يواصل عمليات الاحتجاز الوحشي واﻹبعاد الجماعي لﻷشخاص المنحدرين من أصل إريتري، ويواصل كذلك الاستيلاء على ممتلكاتهم، وذلك بتجاهل كامل لجميع النداءات الدولية بالكف عن انتهاك حقوق اﻹنسان لﻹريتريين ولﻹثيوبيين الذين هم من أصل إريتري.

16. Thus the Government of Ethiopia would like to underscore, that the Eritrean Government has neither the moral nor the political standing to accuse Ethiopia of violating the basic human rights of Eritreans currently residing in Ethiopia.
١٦ - لذلك تود حكومة إثيوبيا أن تؤكد على أن حكومة إريتريا لا تملك أي حق أدبي أو سياسي لاتهام إثيوبيا بانتهاك حقوق اﻹنسان اﻷساسية لﻹريتريين المقيمين حاليا فيها.

25. In the light of the foregoing, the Government of Ethiopia would like to reiterate, that the Eritrean Government has neither the moral nor the political standing to accuse Ethiopia of violating the basic human rights of Eritreans currently residing in Ethiopia.
٢٥ - وعلى ضوء ما تقدم تود حكومة إثيوبيا أن تعيد تأكيد أن حكومة إريتريا لا تملك أي حق أدبي أو سياسي لاتهام إثيوبيا بانتهاك حقوق اﻹنسان اﻷساسية لﻹريتريين المقيمين حاليا في إثيوبيا.

HRW stated that the Government does not issue travel documents or exit visas to Eritreans eligible for national service and children older than 14 are not allowed to travel outside Eritrea.
وذكرت منظمة رصد حقوق الإنسان أن الحكومة لا تصدر وثائق سفر أو تأشيرات خروج للإريتريين المؤهلين للخدمة الوطنية، كما أن الأطفال فوق 14 سنة لا يسمح لهم بالسفر خارج إريتريا(63).
