Mr. DELANEY (Papua New Guinea) said that the member States of the South Pacific Forum, which included his country, attached great importance to the United Nations initiative on opportunity and participation.

As regards agenda item 151, " United Nations initiative on opportunity and participation " , I am also establishing a working group in order to negotiate a consensus text based on the draft resolution that has been circulated in document A/48/L.19.
وفيما يتعلق بالبنـــد ١٥١ مــن جــدول اﻷعمال " مبادرة اﻷمم المتحدة بشأن تهيئة الفرص والمشاركة " ، أشكل كذلك فريقا عاملا مـــن أجـل التوصل عن طريق التفاوض الى نص يحظى بتوافق اﻵراء استنادا الـــى مشروع القرار الذي وزع في الوثيقة A/48/L.19.
