The Committee recalled that the General Assembly, in its resolution 53/45, had noted with satisfaction that, in accordance with paragraph 30 of its resolution 50/27, the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific had continued its education programme in 1998 and that significant progress had been achieved in establishing regional centres for space science and technology education in the other regions.
