75. The Regional Service Centre at the logistics hub at Entebbe, Uganda, was established by General Assembly resolution 64/269 with effect from 1 July 2010.

The Group welcomed the Secretary-General's comments on the expansion of the logistics hub in Entebbe, Uganda, but was disappointed that no concrete information had been given about the evaluation of support functions to determine which ones should be relocated to Entebbe or about the time frame for completion of the evaluation.

8. Acknowledges with appreciation that the use of the logistics hub in Entebbe, Uganda, has been cost-effective and has resulted in savings for the United Nations, and welcomes the expansion of the logistics hub to provide logistical support to peacekeeping operations in the region and to further contribute to their enhanced efficiency and responsiveness;

51. In the Movement Control Section, it is proposed to create a position of Transport Assistant as part of an additional heavy vehicle team proposed to be established at the logistics hub in Entebbe for the surface transportation of cargo to the east of the country for the reasons explained in paragraph 30 above.
51 - وفي قسم مراقبة الحركة، يُقترح استحداث وظيفة مساعد نقل، كجزء من فريق إضافي للمركبات الثقيلة يُقترح إنشاؤه في مركز اللوجستيات في عنتيبي، أوغندا للنقل البري للشحنات إلى شرق البلاد، للأسباب التي ورد شرحها في الفقرة 30 أعلاه.

4. In its resolution 64/269, the General Assembly approved the establishment of a regional service centre at the logistics hub at Entebbe, effective 1 July 2010, and determined that the staffing of regional service centres would be achieved through redeployments from field missions.
