3. The Committee regrets that the report did not provide any information on the implementation of article 3 on the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights.

13. Article 3 of the Covenant prescribes that States parties undertake to " ensure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights " .
13- تنص المادة 3 من العهد على أن تتعهد الدول الأطراف " بضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية " .

Articles 2 and 3 of the Covenant prohibit discrimination based on sex and guarantee " the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the present Covenant " .
وتحظر المادتان 2 و3 من العهد التمييز على أساس نوع الجنس وتضمنان " مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد " .

The Committee refers the State party in this regard to its general comment No. 16 on the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights (art. 3).
وتحيل اللجنة الدولة الطرف، في هذا الصدد، إلى تعليقها العام رقم 16 بشأن مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية (المادة 3).

Furthermore, article 3 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights provides that the State Parties to the Covenant must " ensure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth " in the Covenant.

Similarly, the Human Rights Committee has decided to address itself again to article 3 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all the rights set forth in the Covenant) and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women has adopted a general recommendation on articles 9, 15 and 16 of the Convention and is preparing recommendations on articles 2, 7 and 8.
وكذلك قررت اللجنة المعنية بحقوق اﻹنسان أن تعالج من جديد المادة ٣ من العهد )مساواة الذكور والاناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق المنصوص عليها في العهد( واعتمدت اللجنة المعنية بالقضاء على التمييز ضد المرأة توصية عامة بشأن المواد ٩ و ١٥ و ١٦، وهي تعد حاليا توصيات بشأن المادتين ٧ و ٨ والمادة ٢.

The discussions held by the Committee at its thirtysecond and thirtythird sessions on draft general comments, notably on article 3 (the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights), and on article 6 (the right to work) of the Covenant;

The discussions held by the Committee at its thirtieth session, held in May 2003, on a draft general comment on article 3 of the Covenant (the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights), as a followup to the day of general discussion at its twentyeighth session in May 2002;

Moreover, some forms of discrimination are covered elsewhere in the Covenant itself, for instance in article 3, pursuant to which States " undertake to ensure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the present Covenant " .
ومن ناحية أخرى، هنالك أشكال تمييز أخرى تم تناولها في إطار العهد نفسه، كما هو الحال في المادة 3، حيث " تتعهد الدول الأطراف في هذا العهد بضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد " .

In order to secure the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights set forth in the Covenant, signed by the Yemeni Government, and in recognition of the need to provide the legal guarantees required for men and women to have the same legal rights as those set forth in the Covenant, Yemen took steps to ensure that the Yemeni Constitution and other laws in force recognize those rights.
35- لضمان مساواة الذكور والإناث في حق التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد الموقَّع عليه من قِبَل حكومة بلدنا، وإدراكاً من اليمن لضرورة تأمين وتوفير الضمانات القانونية الكفيلة بامتلاك الرجل والمرأة لنفس الحقوق القانونية المنصوص عليها في هذا العهد، جاء الدستور اليمني والقوانين النافذة الأخرى لتأكيد الحصول على هذه الحقوق.
