استقبل لبنان منذ ساعات قليلة معالي الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة السيد بان كي - مون الذي يقوم بزيارة إلى المنطقة يحمل خلالها السلام عنوانا، فأكد له لبنان ترحيبه به ممثلا للشرعية الدولية وقيّما على بذل الجهود الحميدة لإيجاد حلول للأزمات التي تعصف بالعالم، وما أكثرها.

أود بداية أن أهنئكم، السيد الرئيس بمناسبة انتخابكم لرئاسة الدورة الخامسة والستين للجمعية العامة لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة منوها بسلفكم الدكتور علي التريكي لما أضفاه من دينامية على أشغال جمعيتنا العامة.كما أتقدم بجزيل الشكر إلى معالي الأمين العام على عمله الدؤوب، من أجل تعزيز دور المنظمة الدولية.

I also wish to express our great pride in the sincere efforts of His Excellency the Secretary-General, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, to achieve the international purposes and principles we are all pursuing in order to strengthen the concepts of international cooperation and respect for international legitimacy, as well as to foster the principles of the United Nations Charter.
كما أود أن أعرب عن فائق الاعتزاز بالجهود الواضحة التي يقوم بها معالي الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة السيد بان كي - مون لتحقيق المقاصد والأهداف الدولية التي نسعى جميعا من أجلها لترسيخ مفاهيم التعاون الدولي واحترام الشرعية الدولية وتعزيز مبادئ ميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

In the coming few days, our region will receive the Secretary-General of the United Nations. It is our strong hope that his visit will reflect positively on the situation as a whole.
خلال اﻷيام القليلة القادمة سنستقبل في منطقتنا معالي اﻷمين العام لﻷمم المتحدة ونحن نأمل أن تنعكس هذه الزيارة إيجابيا على الوضع بشكل عام.
