An international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects should be an adequate framework for joint efforts by the States concerned in the search for means and ways of confronting this undesirable phenomenon.
مالطـة ترى حكومة مالطة أن هدف ونطاق المؤتمر الدولي المقترح المعني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة بجميع جوانبه ينبغي أن يتجسدا في اتفاقية أو اتفاق مماثل معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة.

122. The General Assembly, in resolution 53/77 E, decided to convene an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects no later than 2001.
١٢٢ - قررت الجمعية العامة في القرار ٥٣/٧٧ هاء، عقد مؤتمر دولي معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة من جميع جوانبه في موعد لا يتجاوز عام ٢٠٠١.

Canada welcomed the decision of the General Assembly in resolution 53/77 E to convene an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects, no later than 2001.

5. In considering the latter recommendation at its fifty-third session, the Assembly, by resolution 53/77 E of 4 December 1998, decided to convene an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects no later than 2001.

It appears opportune for the General Assembly to undertake the implementation of its resolution 53/77 E, in which it decided to convene an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects no later than 2001 and welcomed the offer by the Government of Switzerland to host the conference at Geneva.
ويبدو أن الوقت قد حان كي تضطلع الجمعية العامة بتنفيذ قرارها ٥٣/٧٧ هاء، الذي قررت فيه عقد مؤتمر دولي معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة من جميع جوانبه في موعد لا يتجاوز عام ٢٠٠١ وأن ترحب بالعرض الذي قدمته حكومة سويسرا باستضافة المؤتمر في جنيف.

6. Also expresses its full support for the convening of an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects no later than 2001, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 53/77 E of 4 December 1998;
٦ - تعرب أيضا عن تأييدها التام للدعوة إلى عقد مؤتمر دولي معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة من جميع جوانبه، وذلك في موعد لا يتجاوز عام ٢٠٠١، عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة ٥٣/٧٧ هاء المؤرخ ٤ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨؛

Also requests the Secretary-General to seek the views of Member States on the report and on the steps that they have taken to implement its recommendations, and, in particular, to seek their views on the recommendation concerning the convening of an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects in time for consideration by the General Assembly at its fifty-third session;
٤ - تطلب أيضا إلى اﻷمين العام أن يلتمس آراء الدول اﻷعضاء بشأن التقرير وبشأن ما اتخذته من خطوات لتنفيذ ما ورد به من توصيات، وأن يلتمس، على وجه الخصوص، آراءها بشأن التوصية المتعلقة بعقد مؤتمر دولي معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة من جميع جوانبه، وذلك في وقت يتيح النظر فيها من جانب الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين؛

Requests the Secretary-General to prepare a report containing his recommendations to be submitted to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session, with a view to a decision by the Assembly at its fifty-fourth session on the objective, scope, agenda, dates, venue of and preparatory committee for an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects;
٢ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يعــد تقريرا يتضمن توصياته، كي يقدﱠم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين، حتى تتوصل الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين إلى قرار بشأن الهدف من مؤتمر دولي معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة من جميع جوانبه، ونطاق هذا المؤتمر وجدول أعماله، وموعده، ومكان انعقاده، ولجنته التحضيرية؛

٢ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يعــد تقريرا يتضمن توصياته، كي يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين، حتى تتوصل الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين إلى قرار حول الهدف من مؤتمر دولي معني بالاتجار غير المشروع باﻷسلحة من جميع جوانبه، ونطاق هذا المؤتمر وجدول أعماله، وموعده، ومكان انعقاده، ولجنته التحضيرية؛

4. Further, the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to implement the relevant recommendations contained in the report and to seek the views of Member States on the report and, in particular, on the recommendation concerning the convening of an international conference on the illicit arms trade in all its aspects, in time for consideration by the Assembly at its fifty-third session.
