At the subregional and regional levels, my delegation notes with satisfaction that the Plan of Action emphasizes the importance of promoting and strengthening cooperation in activities to prevent, reduce and mitigate disasters.
وعلى الصعيدين دون اﻹقليمي واﻹقليمي يلاحظ وفدي مع اﻹرتياح أن خطة العمل تؤكد على أهمية تشجيع وتعزيز التعاون في اﻷنشطة الرامية الى اتقاء الكوارث والتأهب لها وتخفيــف حدتهــا.

The Secretariat noted with satisfaction the peacekeeping efforts undertaken at those levels and had, in several cases, cooperated closely in their realization.
ولاحظت اﻷمانة العامة مع اﻹرتياح جهود حفظ السلام التي اتخذت على تلك المستويات وتعاونت في حالات عديدة بصورة وثيقة في تحقيقها.

First, we would like to note with satisfaction that in the past few years, cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has been activated at both the political and organizational levels.

Iran notes with satisfaction that the first session of the Preparatory Committee recommended to the next session the allocation of specific time to be devoted to discussions on ways and means for the implementation of the Middle East resolution, negative security assurances and cut-off, and I hope that the 1998 meeting of the Preparatory Committee can make progress in these matters.
وتحيط إيران علما مع اﻹرتياح بأن الدورة اﻷولى للجنة التحضيرية أوصت الدورة المقبلة بتخصيص وقت معين يكرس للمناقشات حول سبل ووسائل تنفيذ قرار الشرق اﻷوسط، وضمانات اﻷمن السلبية، ووقف التجارب، ويحدوني اﻷمل في أن تتمكن اللجنة التحضيرية من إحراز تقدم في هذه المسائل أثناء اجتماعها في عام ١٩٩٨.

8. Notes with satisfaction the measures being taken by the territorial Government to prevent drug trafficking and money laundering, and urges the administering Power to continue its assistance to the Territory in those endeavours;
٨ - تلاحظ مع اﻹرتياح التدابير المتخذة من جانب حكومة اﻹقليم لمنع الاتجار بالمخدرات وغسل اﻷموال، وتحث الدولة القائمة باﻹدارة على مواصلة تقديم مساعدتها إلى اﻹقليم في تلك الجهود؛

(b) It welcomed with satisfaction the efforts made by the Secretary-General to implement the relevant provisions of the statement of the Central Organ of 11 September 1995 (see annex I);

Noting with satisfaction the valuable initiative taken by the United Nations Children's Fund to facilitate " days of tranquillity " and " corridors of peace " , which have been used to provide humanitarian relief, such as immunization, health care, food and clothing, to children trapped by armed conflicts,
وإذ تلاحظ مع اﻹرتياح المبادرة القيﱢمة التي إتخذتها منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة لتيسير " أيام السكينة " و " ممرات السلم " التي استخدمت في تقديم اﻹغاثة الانسانية، من قبيل توفير التحصين والرعاية الصحية والغذاء والملبس إلى اﻷطفال الذين ُأحصروا في المنازعات المسلحة،

Notes with satisfaction the interim report of the updated study by the independent expert on possible long-term approaches to enhancing the effective operation of the human rights treaty system and requests that the Commission on Human Rights review the proposals to be submitted in the final report of the independent expert with a view to recommending further action;
٢ - تلاحظ مع اﻹرتياح التقرير المؤقت عن الدراسة المستكملة التى أعدها الخبير المستقل عن النهج الطويلة اﻷجل الممكنة لتعزيز التشغيل الفعال لنظام معاهدات حقوق اﻹنسان، وتطلب أن تستعرض لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان ما يتضمنه التقرير النهائي الذي سيعده الخبير من مقترحات بغية التوصية بمزيد من العمل؛

Noting with satisfaction the successful implementation of the General Peace Agreement for Mozambique, See S/24635 and Corr.1, annex. which has created favourable conditions for the establishment of lasting peace, the enhancement of democracy, the promotion of national reconciliation, and the implementation of a programme of national reconstruction and development in Mozambique,
