5. In his introductory remarks, the representative of the Sudan noted that the special procedures system played a vital role in achieving the objectives for which the Commission on Human Rights had been established and in achieving the objectives of the Charter of the United Nations, in particular, Article 1(3), regarding the protection and promotion of human rights and the need for international cooperation to achieve that end.
5- لاحظ مندوب السودان، في كلمته الافتتاحية، أن نظام الإجراءات الخاصة يضطلع بدور حيوي في تحقيق الأهداف التي قامت عليها لجنة حقوق الإنسان وفي تحقيق مقاصد ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وبخاصة، المادة 1(3)، بشأن تعزيز احترام حقوق الإنسان وضرورة التعاون الدولي لتحقيق ذلك.
