4. The termination of co-financing provided by UNDP for the UNIDO Desks during their two-year pilot phase was addressed.

Referring to other matters on the Board's agenda, he said that, under the UNIDO/UNDP Cooperation Agreement, Afghanistan had been selected as one of the two Asian countries for the launch of a UNIDO Desk in 2005, since when it had been better able to coordinate its industrial development programmes with UNIDO and with other multilateral development partners.
